Charli XCX Plays a Twisted Persona of Herself in Satirical Film First Look

The Grammy-winning artist is gearing up for a major cinematic presence in 2026, beginning with the mockumentary titled The Moment.

In the film, Charli portrays what she calls as a hell version of herself.

It’s the realest depiction of the music business that I’ve ever witnessed, Charli remarked.

She further explained in a conversation: This isn’t a concert film, but the idea stemmed from the pressure to produce one.

A Sneak Peek into The Project

The first teaser, launched on recently, mixes authentic footage from Charli’s Sweat tour with imagined behind-the-scenes moments.

The Moment is overseen and co-authored by Aidan Zamiri, who revealed that the plot revolves around a reality where Charli made entirely different choices during the promotion of her chart-topping release Brat.

A Busy Film Calendar

The mockumentary is a single one of several future movie projects for Charli, who already appeared in three cinematic festival entries in the current year.

Furthermore took on her own role in the humorous show Overcompensating.

What’s Next

Next year will also see the artist alongside Olivia Wilde in romantic thriller I Want Your Sex, Natalie Portman in gallery suspense The Gallerist, and Barbie Ferreira in horror remake Faces of Death.

Additionally, she joined to appear in the star’s first film as director A Tree in Blue.

I’m thoroughly loving my foray into acting, Charli stated. I feel very, very inspired right now in this area, and I solely want to do projects that excite me.

Musical Contributions

February will also include the launch of the director’s adaptation of Wuthering Heights, which will include new music from Charli.

She will also create the soundtrack for the film Mother Mary, starring Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel, set to be released in the coming year.

The film will be released on the 30th of January.
