A Pair of Arrests in the Aftermath of London Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
The assault caused the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

Two more people have been arrested related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both are still being held, authorities confirmed.

The arrests come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, two women were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was one of the injured during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were later released.

Police detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault near the scene. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were called at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of several people injured by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.

The attack - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park for a short time.
